Description

Inspired by the classic Type II trucker jacket, this piece combines vintage style with added functionality. It features the original design details from the 1953 release—though ours is less boxy, with knife pleats and lower chest pockets. We’ve also made a few modern updates, like side-entry pockets and back seams. While these additions aren’t part of the original design, we felt they were important for a more functional and contemporary look.

This style uses 14oz of selvedge denim sourced from a mill based right here in the US.

100% cotton selvedge denim jackets are meant to be a little tough to break in. We like to call them the masochist, the person wearing this jacket is a slight glutton for punishment. The initial try on is stiff but the reward is by far the best pay off. The natural wear patterns you get from raw, 100% cotton denim is the best, most beautiful wear patterns you can get. It's worth the few weeks of initial breaking in because once you've worn it for at least 6 months without washing and you give it that first wash- you're in for a treat.

This product is 100% made in the USA, from the denim to the jacket - that's pretty cool.

Wear & Care

Raw denim is a blank canvas and how much you wear your garment will determine how quickly you start to see your own personal wear patterns. Your garment is an investment and in order to get the best price per wear out of it, follow these rules:

  • You need a long length of time wearing your garment in order to chip away the indigo, revealing your own personal wear patterns.
  • Washing your garment too soon will stunt your fades and you’ll just end up with a boring, flat pair of jeans without dimension. Think, Obama throwing out the first pitch in those medium blue jeans. Yikes.
  • When it's time to wash them- soak your garment in cold water and use a gentle detergent, washing them by hand. This take a little extra time but it’s worth it
  • If you must wash it in the washing machine, don’t over fill the load, turn the garment inside-out and wash on the delicate cycle using cold water only.
  • DO NOT PUT YOUR GARMENTS IN THE DRYER!!! We cannot stress this enough. Drying your denim will shorten the garments life expectancy tremendously. The combination of the high heat and the tumbling of the dryer breaks down the cotton fibers, affecting its durability.
  • If you experience a spill, we recommend spot cleaning, blotting with a damp cotton cloth. Try not to rub too much, you’ll rub away indigo and be left with a lighter spot than the rest of your garment.
